To start creating Images for my 3 double spreads I went with one of my ideas of creating photos that’s are destroyed in that are meant to be taken from Mc life.
the frist step was to find a Polaroid background to use so I could put my images inside and destory them making the photos look older then todays time zone, the photos picked were in themes such as;
holiday ones – beach photos, building and river lakes
special event – her wedding photo, baby party, a dance ( school)
I thought I would take photos of old photos in my house that my family kept or I’ve taken throughout my years of being alive I thought theses photos susie would keep somewhere as they are important to people even if she doesn’t like looking at them.
To help fit the photos link to the article I used the idea of destroying them in different ways because photos do get damage and often if someone is mad about something they might destroy them.
here are the photos I took photos of to use.
to develop each photos I took each one of them into an app called after light and changed the brightness, blurred some of the photos. One of the images I went on to take onto my iPad and draw on adobe illustrator draw.
After each of the images had something done to them to improve them not make them not easy to look at, I went and stuck them in an app called unfold where I had a Polaroid template that I did a test print with and the photos looked amazing.
I printed out all of the Polaroid on photo paper and cut around them, destroyed some photos more like the holiday photos I used a pen to scratch some the image away or used a lighter to burn the image to give each photo its own story.
taking the images back on to my laptop to use in my magazine spreads I scanned them all each in their themes and on it’s own. I’ve now taken all of the scanning work into photoshop to remove the white background so they wouldn’t so odd on the white background spreads.
