today was my first group tutorial for my amp project I missed the last one due to personal reason so I was very excited to get. speak about my fmp project topic as I’ve already spent a week improving my idea and wanting others opinions on the topic as it could help me improve my idea and concepts for the next following weeks.
while speaking to my peers and tutor I had a lot of positive resents about my ideas and creating an app, due to my group being mainly females the discus just flowed really well and there a lot of helpful points such as;
” a place to review and show your experience on the different options would be really nice and useful just like others opinions to help you out”
“the app would help normalise that the pill has side effects and could help point out the different side effects and help others understand”
“the app could also be a place that could track experiences and talk to others”
“the app would be more useful and it would be private”
” the app would be a place to go back to and fill in and very private it won’t always ask for cookies and make you scared that you will have adverts popping up online about the contraception”
in the discussion David did point out to me that my idea is service design and it’s a really strong idea and the issues is obvisouly there and it would useful to get information and support out but he question would the information I’m looking at would it suit better a website or an app, this mean in. the next couple of days I should think about my concept of the app and see what I want to include and not to include and what would it work better as.
while the this point was made I feel the idea I would probably going for would be app as it’s more private and gives females a place to discuss and track where a websites like nhs only give the basic not anyone else experiences, a point that made by a peer was that ” an app is to do something that often done more than once and a website is only to check out something” this point really made me think about my idea a bit more would people want to know or not but while the group were talking a lot of the girls were on a type contraception and said it would nice to have app that just for that and could help them as there’s not out there.
Point to look into after this meeting;
- cervical cancer screening – how do they knock down the negative stigma
- look at other apps – pull them apart see how their layouts work
- look into services design online on different platforms
- think about what I want in the app or not – this could be a concept of the app
