final major project – picking idea path

starting off this project I had my idea ready of what I wanted to get awareness and help people with and that was Contraceptive pills and the other options that are out there but people don’t know much about but also to knock the negative stigma around the topic and to help people gain the knowledge they to make their choices and advice if they are experiencing any issues.

while this theme is what I want to do while speaking about my idea I realised that I had two different pathways I could follow and take my ideas so I thought about just writing both ideas down so I could see them and full apart them.

pathway one – this concept would be a print campaign that target to high school girls that’s just getting their period or becoming sexually active the reason to target theses is because in school theres a lack of support on the issues and young girls are often left to find out themselves ( this can be hard to do) the issues is that the lack of. knowledge could lead to increase teen pregnancy’s but also people struggling with health issues, if theres a campaign that based for them it could really support them giving them the knowledge about the options out there but knock down the conceptive is only for sexually active people.

the types of outcomes I feel that could work this adueicne could be a set of print base outcomes that could be in a bag and given to the girls the outcomes could be a infographic menu of what out there then small guide outcomes and information that could be useful for the young aduience when they need it.

pro’s of this pathway

  • will help the newest generation
  • a camapgain that’s not done
  • young girls will have an idea what they can get and more advice
  • it will knock out the embarrassment of the contraceptive
  • people will feel engaged with the handheld outcomes

cons of the campaign

  • covid has made paperless environment
  • girls might feel to embarrassed to go get
  • could be hard for people to keep all information and end not having it time of need
  • people might miss out getting the prints for some reason
  • social media is very young teens are so it could be more powerful on there

pathway 2 – the concept of target teenagers and young adults through an online presenter such social media marketing and an app that can be made to be used 24/7 at anyone need, the issues of this is the same the pathway one of people knowing their options that out there but this issues always faces people struggling or need some type of support and advice and google nor giving the right answers while covid is going there is a really a small about of support so there a big time of need or online support.

pro’s of this pathway

  • targets more than one age group
  • online will target and get more awareness
  • accessable anywhere at anytime
  • the app will be private so people won’t feel as worried
  • the app would allow people to connect and track their mood or anything they need
  • information will always be there compared to print

cons of this pathway

  • someone that oddest use app or social media much might struggle to find the app
  • could be seen as overwhelming for someone.

Looking back at the pathways I felt the first idea was strong and could really target the audience well but putting myself back into high school days I probably wouldn’t wanted printed stuff as I would be shy and wouldn’t want people knowing I was looking into the topic due to the use shame of the topic but also on the other hand with covid-19 print outcomes are getting cut down mixing and everything is online being the campaign wouldn’t react as far and help people that think they don’t need the help but really this could any women or girl. The strongest pathway for me is the second pathway I feel that idea can be taken forward more and explored and pushed it best and could really help someone and it also allows me to show off my UI/UX skills in my portfolio but also my marketing passion and values of this topic as this topic is a close my heart topic.
