one of the tasks for second dissertation design classes is to design a inspiration board of editorial outcomes that give you some inspiration in some type of ways while researching I felt there was a lot of editorials outcomes that really stood out to me and that I wanted to write. about them on my blog to show their work that has helped me think of ways to design later on.
The Tokyo ISSYONI Weisly by Hsueh Wei-cheng
The Tokyo ISSYONI Weisly by Hsueh Wei-cheng is an editorial in Chinese so I couldn’t really understand what it was about however the reason why I look this outcome is I enjoy the idea of keeping my editorial in packaging this is something that makes an outcomes stand out a bit more than a typical editorial as it gives the user an experience that not often done, due my dissertation is about how emotional marketing and society influencers to increase brands sales on females I talk a lot about packaging being a. main way to increase sales so having my dissertation in a package could really link to my idea. while Hsueh Wei-cheng design is in a different language I did think the layout was very minimalist while still having the play of hierarchy text.

magazine article about the hard work and pain of ballet dancers // b/w photos with dynamic abstract illustrations in ballet-rosé 2018 project, while this project isn’t something I normally look at I came across this project and fell in love with simplistic of the design that work so well, there a lot of negative space in the spreads but they are balanced out with the amount of type and pictures I really like the use of this as it not too much text heavy, what stood out to me was the line work, some people would dislike it and think it destroys the work but as a designer I feel the play and experiment of using art work to show of dance is a really creative and pink really stands out on the design and the pull out quotes fit in so well they aren’t too bold.
Gavin McGovern – dissertation design
while researching online I thought to look into ” dissertation design” to see if there was any online that could help me get inspired especially if they have a unique idea, while looking around I came across Gavin who’s a graphic designer who did a dissertation design that based on fashion forward the impact and evolution of graphic design within the fashion industry, while looking at his design I fouled that the colour choice and layout that simplistic really stood out to me the mix of pinks really work well with each other as the darker stands out on the lighter pink, while only seeing a small amount of spreads I wish that I could see more and bit more play on the layout however the amount I’ve seen the feel the right typeface and colour work well with each other really well.

while this isn’t a dissertation design outcome, this a professional editorial magazine that created by a handful of designers, I came across this editorial design through Behace and I’m very grateful for coming across this outcome, this outcome has such a vibrant style straight away, the colour simple colour scheme of black, white and yellow work so we’ll it’s not mucho the pages and the yellow as a background colour really. pulls you in to want to more, the mixture of playful layout with type is exciting to look at it’s never the same on each spread even the use of a paint brush text face books so well on the spread even if half the of world is higher than the rest, this editorial has really inspired me with the colour usage and layout, I feel this has helped me realised that I want my dissertation design very bright but the layout simplistic with a mixture of plainness of type moving across the spreads.
GIRLS ZINE – Hayley Peacock
An editorial outcome that really stood out to be that’s not often my style was GIRLS ZINE , the usage of the hand-written typeface and messiness really stood out to me compared the other editorial on the design printrest, while this book is very female based the get straight away the editorial outcome is about standing up about women rights and being feed up, while looking into this outcome the handwritten effect has really inspired me to think about using my own typeface in my editorial because my dissertation is about experiences with brands and reviews that have emotions to get people to talk by using personal typeface could really get my dissertation idea across more. The bottom left photo is the cover I really like the background is dull and washed out and centre is the open me open me it really draws people in and makes them want to open the design.
