Today was the last day of the 5 day penguin book competition that part of my course while it’s the last day it means it’s an Formative assessments with peers and my two tutors where they see my design and get to know the concept and will give back some feedback to change and improve the idea ready to be submitted for the competition online next month.
formative assessments are often really scary for me as I always feel a bit judge but today FA was online on teams and I felt not ready to explain my idea to the group and not worried, the feedback was done by pallet where everyone in the group uploads their work and we told to find 3 covers that add something good about them but also an area to improve, below was my cover feedback.
the review of others was very positive and uplift but also helpful for me to improve my outcomes before handing in to penguin, it seems that a lot people like the layering idea and colour mixed with each other as could have a hidden message and doesn’t give away too much but the feedback to improve was how could I add in fear , I feel this important element to include so I will be taken this away and thinking of way to improve and how to bring more emotions to my designs .

once I told my concept and meaning behind the the idea the tutors gave their review and areas I should maybe change to improve I feel the tutors were very useful and enjoyed the 3 areas of the designs and told to focus more on theses areas and remove the spine colour and the 3 areas and unique and work well with each and could be pushed more to make the outcome have more impact, David did agree with about me adding more fear into the book cover from darling colours or something the other improvement was to change my front page typeface because the typeface was very 70’s and wouldn’t have as much impact as the other fonts on the cover, taking all this on board I will be going back to my design to change areas.
by looking at the cover from other reviews I’m going to go back and use the feedback to help me improve for example I will be changing my typefaces and adding more darkness to the book to give more fear while also improving the back of the book .
