today is the 13th of February also known as the hand in day for printed matters for my artist book created by me and also the artist book fair to show or sell my own books. instead of selling my artist books at the fair I wanted to give them away to my family to keep and my boyfriend who went on this trip with me as a creative photo book, the real why I didn’t want to sell my books at the fair was that I spent a while on this project and I felt people wouldn’t understand the time and effort of the art where my family will the other reason is that the books were so fragile inside and could easily be lost so keeping them and placing them on display was the best choice for me.
The final outcome for my book ended up being 3 artist books that were creative digital and hand made designs on black and white photos of Amsterdam ( that you will see below ) when I started the project I was going to make 5 blinded books but while design there a handful of errors and the project outcomes took longer then I thought it would so I cut down the outcomes and made a limit of 3 artist books that a book/ box case made this was more suitable for my final design idea where the reader would be able to take everything and look at the photos giving them more freedom to do their own thing.
below is the final outcome of my artist books, each book/case looks the same with ribbon holding them close with a tag that has been letterpressed with the book name I wanted to add some details that give the book name so people know what the artist book is called I also wanted to have something that added a bit more detail to the front of the case instead of the whole book being a mystery too much.

The outcome of each three books inside include the same photos within each book but however each book photo as the same style but never the photo looks the same as each outcome of the photo has a diffrent look this sometimes an accident or on purpose to see what it look like below is an example of one of the photos that are same and have the same style but each one has its own outcome look for each book.

By having the same photo and trying to use explore the style more I think it helps me be more creative and understand my creativity in my head, seeing what my brain will come out with, I think these outcomes work very well with the photo but also work well as a group as they all link together the inspiration I had here was from David Hockney that I studied in GCSE. From seeing an example of one the set of photos from my artist book you get the idea of what the outcome of most of my artist book photos will look like as I went on to explore many diffrent ideas.
The photo below is one of the artist book set with some of the photos that are included inside of the bundle it looks not a lot but each artist book included 20 photos each that involved ideas from paint, cut up photos, layering, glitter, and screen printing each idea was a way to explore how to be creative on a photo.

the next photo below is the artist book set 2 bundle it has the same photo as seen above but a diffrent take on the look of the outcome of the photo I had kept some photos the same to keep so of the outcome joining the other book but I wanted each book to have its photo with its own style look so it felt that the book was a rare thing and wasnt an addition of 1000 that has everything the same by having each one a little diffrent meant the owner would respect the outcome more as it’s more rare and more time went in it.

The last artist book I forgot to take photos of but it was. very similar to the last two artist books above however my tutor Sean has the honor of having the book to look over and keep for the following year..
