While today’s class was work on your project day I decided I wanted to experiment with an idea that I wanted to design my book around to see what the outcomes will look like and what I could improve on instead of just jumping into the idea and making a final idea.
due to my idea being a photography-based artist book expressing that there is art and color in each photo and just not a simple photo of the world, I wanted to have an idea on top of the photo to make the artist book more interesting so my idea was to add screenprinting on top of the photo in bright photo that stands against my idea of black and white photos.
the first screenprinting test I went on to do was to create a roughly outline of a rough 2-second pattern I made on paper and cut this was to see what the idea would look like my first try to do create the pattern on a color page because I was unsure if I wanted to design my book in color photos or black and white by taking time out to do the short screenprint I like the way the simple pattern added some detail to the photo making the photo mysterious

To see what would happen if I add another layer of pattern on the same photo I wanted to experiment more and what the outcome would turn like however by looking at the photo below it shows the experiment didn’t turn out that well because of the photo got stuck on the screen while screen printing so the layout got moved the only thing that worked out well was the color, I feel that bright color make the art of screen printing stand out more.

for the black and white first try out, I used the same pattern layout and colors to see what it looks better on and straight away I feel enjoy the look of the color and pattern on the black and white as it makes the photo pop, to improve my artist book more I think I will make each photo have it’s own pattern and bright color to make each page unique and diffrent.
