Today class was a very useful class for me as it was a book blinding workshop, in my first year in University I was introduced of how to book blind so for this workshop I already had the knowledge of how to book blind but I still found this class very useful to refresh my brain on how to book blind as I might be needing to book blind my own books later on in this project.
Because I already knew a lot of the steps I was very ahead of most of the class so I had time to take photos of some of the most impact steps to keep on the blog so I can use if I need it for next time I can come back to my own blog to use.
the most important steps I learned i needed to remember to dot each page on their spins where to hole punch the pages to sew through the. best measurement to use is 3cm in from the ends then 3 cm in from the first hole. Once I start sewing to remember only sew 2 pages together at the time and tie them up at the bottom before adding in the next page set.
while I knew a lot bout creating the hardback of the case I did struggle with cutting the boards down in the same size with each one a tip I found online was use a paper cutter board and same the time of cutting each one at a time no more mess so when I need to do this it might be a shortcut.
Once I had followed all of the steps and refreshed my brain with Tom’s workshop I let my book dry and below is the final look of the book after a day of drying, the book looks a lot better than my first ever book I made but there is one small error where I rushed my cover but I can always remember not to rush next time.
