From yesterday’s class being the introduction lecture to the new filed project, my brain was already having ideas flying around but there wasn’t one main idea I could pick out straight away and be like that is what I want to do for the project for the next 5 weeks. to help myself come up with an idea that I will enjoy for a couple of weeks, below is the mind map that I started to design around areas I enjoy in graphic and design work that my research for my book would work well with.
above is most of the area’s my work links mainly to in my field of graphic design work and that I enjoy creating, the words that are underlined with pink are main areas that I think I want my project to have links to theses are main ideas I will use to make more research in and test ideas to see what my final outcome out with.
in yesterday class I wanted to create a typography book but I felt that in project I wanted to make a design outcome that more me and something that would diffrent from a typical blinded book in graphic that main always include typography, changing my ideas from typography I knew I wanted to do photos in my book but not filly sure from doing this mindmap I believe that. I will make my own artist book that is a photography-based outcome with a small about of typography to create a narrative of the photo within each page of the artist book.
One of the this I’m trying to improve on as a designer is using color that scares me from my last filed project I did improve a lot on this so I want to carry it on throughout this project as I feel that color helps to show art more to people as it stands out from far away, I think that I will use color and screenprinting together onto of the photography ideas to get a final outcome.
right now I feel that idea is leaning to designing an artist book that shows photography and badding screening printing on the photo or around the photo on the pages to make the art of a still photo in a better light, this means I will be layering and using more playful ideas than normal, In my typical background of graphic I often layer my work to get a creative outcome so I will bring this in my outcomes of this term as it always works out.
The next part of this project will go on to some research of artists books that reltatee to me and some ideas that are more creative with crazy book blinding and ideas of how their work is put together or ideas of the whole book, I feel by researching and then going on some of my own tryouts on outcomes it will be prep myself for a good outcome that will fail when I try my final outcomes.
