relation to colour – basic learning of colour

starting off this field project I didn’t know what to expect really all I knew about the project was it was all about using colour and seeing what could happen so this first introduction lesson was very useful to get into the whole project.

the first 10 miintue was a discussion on how there are primary colours that make  the base of other colours and they are then mixed many of times to create a diffrent shade of a colour,  the discussion lead the talk into a task of using the primary colours of diffrent shades of yellow, red, blue we had a task to paint theses strips with one side one colour and one side the other using the two diffrent colours each line of colour had to have a mixture of the other colour where in the middle of the strip the colours should create a new secondary colour with the two primary colour on the ends

Due to the task having so many painting strips to do daivd put everyone into the group so the group could work together to paint instead of. everyone doing 12 each, as a group everyone put them on the wall so everyone could see the diffrent shades everyone had come up with this help show how colours are made and how easy it is to make our own shades without buying new colour paint each time that we want to use. Below is the final outcome wall where you can see all diffrent colour stripes that were painted in the session. I believe that they all show diffrent shades none of them is the same this shows that each time you do soemthing it’s never going to be the same each experiment is diffrent a new. learning curve.

The next task that was set was using the colour strips and use a magazine so pick a page in the magazine that had a nice colour that I liked and using the colour swatch on the wall to see what time of shadows of colours are in that one magazine colour as they would have to maded from scratch then once I know what colour shadows are included from the primary colours than to try and make the colour on paper and add more colour until it was a perfect match.

the magazine I wentt for were fashion magazine so there was a lot of diffrent colours that were made from a handful of primary colours and white to make the outcome, finding my first colour was using purple/blue and using white it took a handful of tries to get the colour and then I went past the colour that perfect and it turned to rubbish because I couldn’t find the colour again after doing my colour swatches I went on to my next colour swatch from the magazines I represented this 3 times after I found all the colours I had to paint a card with the colour of paint I had created so this could be displayed to the class I found this hard because I didn’t write down the perfect recipe for the colour so it meant i had to do try and error again to find the perfect colours.

Below are all the colour cards that painted by everyone it shows how colours are made up and they might be a ” blue ” for an example theres so many shades and details to each colour I feel that this first session has brought me knowledge about colours and how they made and showing hoe each shade we see in the colour made up different and light can make it look diffrent from others.
