poster developments

poster one development

starting of the first poster I felt a bit harsh on myself as I wanted to create strong independent design poster and each poster have their own personality of a character showing a dyslexia life affect on txt but while design the first poster I start really slow adding in elements due to not know what to make.

the starting developments was adding another primary colour of the brand theme colour palette to bring some attention to the centre of the poster, slowly by slowly changing the layout of the location and dates of the exhibition I felt I was making progress on the start the development of the poster but I wasn’t sure if it was making the best progress for the brand so far.

once I added in all the letterforms of my background text of the poster giving a hint on what the exhibition about I went on to move the letters out giving each one more space and adding a backup letter face of the same one giving a blur effect to give more the out of focus look, with this development I also was still playing with the layout of the position of the important text and logo and trying out other colours of the typefaces to see if white would stand out more on the posters, however looking at I’m unsure about using one text in white and one in black will be drastic and stand out too much in a bad way.

one of the final developments Ii have done before leaving to do print test and make my final outcome of 1st outcome print poster for this project was making the background nosey with loads of random text this was an idea to show how type can be seen on a page showing how overwhelming it can be to peoples eyes especially a huge amount of text that includes longswords that can be hard to read, the effect was made by adding radius blur movement on illustrator or photoshop, it took some time of playing and seeing what worked and what was too overpowering for the poster.

Poster two development

when designing my outcome poster idea two I knew in my head what I wanted to develop and how design the outcome it just meant I had more time to look and change the outcome for the best format that was needed. the poster below is the first outcome of the poster before developing, from looking at the layout there is many things that can be changed from the shape elements to move around and even the typography .

from developing my poster from the first outcome I used my improve ideas of moving everything I believe this development has worked out better than before however, the logo placement isn’t right in my eyes and still needed touching up, I also want to experiment with the shape colours to see what would fit with the background design the most ot make the poster pop more while on display.

the development below is the rough final design in a way before I do a test print I believe the poster is a good standard and can easily link the brand and whole dyslexia idea theme of the brand, in this development poster I went on the change the layout more and did experiment with the shape colours, I do like the pink and purple but I don’t believe it makes the poster stand out more like the lemon yellow does as it reflects the pink helping it to stand out more than the other.

below is the test print of the poster, I went along and printed out my final rough poster to see what it would look like in real life compared to the computer, this allowed me to get a real understanding of the size of the type and the layout with the colours more, to develop my poster and see what fault it had i went along with a pen and wrote down the issues what I could see with my eye and asked family what fault stands out the post before going back into illustrator to develop my final draft to print and use for the brand. this method allowed me to improve my way of working and how work looks while printed and it as allows me to see each detail in the best way.
