app developments

Like any project that I have done throughout this year and any other design project I’ve done throughout the years, I’ve always gone back after feedback or viewing the project later and changed elements to improve it.

When showing my app to peers and a tutor for a feedback talk I knew instantly that I should improve areas of the app that I disliked, the main part of the app that stood out to me of being not the best was the main blog section I knew that it could look a better with the layout .

On the left hand side is the improved part and the right hand is the before.

As you can see the left hand app layout for app is more set out in a peaceful look there’s not too much mad and busy in your face by deleting some of the photo I feel that it gives a better look of the app, the old deign was definitely not working a good way. I even added in small detail of the tool bar on top of the page to help divide up the main blog section this is too give the user a way to cut down areas they don’t want to see that day.

For the All page, the only people that will come up on the feed is people that the user of the account is following, due to people want everyone on the app information.

The next section I wanted to improve on was the log in pages, my last design worked for the app well already but in my head as a designer I knew small details weren’t there and it was bugging me and I could improve it in some type of way.

WhT I decided to do my log in pages were to add box’s for the person details, each box had a shadow and little grey colour to give the design of being a 3D depth box on the screen I feel that theses box’s work a lot more then a white line on the page, I also went on to changing my via links design I removed the background circle with the social app colours I felt that the design was very bold in your face below and a bit cartoon designed and wasn’t working to best, moving the icons around on the page to find the best way has helped me design the app more.

In my improved feedback talk my tutor talked a lot about having an easy access log in to the app without the user always needing to log in with their name, I felt this was a elements I should add in design as it’s a useful way to user to log in with out the long process.

One of the last changes I made to the app was adding some more small details to calendar section of the app, I played around with the display layout to see where the calendar would sit better on the page, I also added in more colour to show adventures to places to fill up the app to show what the basic of the app would look like when completed by a user
