Today university class was split in two parts the first part of the day was a kinda new project launch for the end year one, this small 3-4 weeks project is a digital form portfolio that is designed by me. Part two was a independent study or feedback ( link)
the frist part of this class the morning was an hour talk about finding out what is expect from this small end of year project to help show our work, the talk include the information of what a digital portfolio is used for . ( a place to show all or some of the work you have completed this year or through the years, in my case just year one work)
the talk also gave us a insight of other digital portfolio from past students or designers that are out there using their website to show their designs, this was a useful part of the talk as it gave a little look at people layouts and what they include in their work, very inspiring part of the talk .
Due to the digital portfolio being a part of the course there are specific requirements that are needed e.g there’s specific design work that I got to include because the portfolio is only a year one overall showing of my work theses designs have to be my projects in my course but I can include work that I have done in the course if I’ve enjoyed it a lot.
things that I should think about for my portfolio
- a unique layout
- maybe including colour
- what the project was for
- titles
- front page – my own logo or a picture to link my work to my designs
- including photos getting used or using templates to make design look real
Creating a digital portfolio seems an amazing way to see all of my work from the last year in university but it also helps me build up my skills up on knowing how to design one before I leave university into the big world of industry.
