To start of the editorial project on the first day as a year group everyone was set the task of getting in groups of four to design a editorial based item on the chosen topic that we are given.
The group I went in to was with Megan, Abbie and Laura, the topic we were given was ” 2 days in London ” as a group we believed that making 4 pages of a magazine will be fun as we were all interested in London.
The information we had to use had to be on a website we copy and used some of the information and got the new photos due to the work only being used a workshop and not put online we won’t be told off or blamed for copy right.
As a group we had to pick what colour paper to use as the design work all had to be in black and white and the paper was the item that colourful we decide to go with red at the start but the black wasn’t very visible on the paper so we changed the idea to plan white pages.
Designing the layout wasn’t the easiest for our group as we wanted to keep the pages simple not a lot of text but when putting all the pages after we seem to see that some pages were heavier with text.
A design idea that group come up with was to do one page of day things to do then night while h=changing the colours of the change for example night being a black background and day as a white page.
An idea I gave to the group was kind making the London Underground stops on the side of the page for instead of the underground stops it will be the activities of the days .
The final outcome was good for a simple 2-3 hour design in a group , if we had more time we could add more detail and try to experiment more but due to times we rushed it.
