designing the oxymoron collage
To start the collage I went off to buy the A2 black card that will be used for the background, this was a starting point as it helped me get ready for my point of making while Laura started her point of drawing the illustration.
Before starting to make anything I want to cut up photo paper to make that the photo paper was easy to cut and trying different ways to cut it up, I took photos to document my steps

From my list in my sketchbook of things that are valve to people I went around my house taking pictures of things that had a valve to my family.
All of the photos that were taken ever in black and white, before printing all the photos off I went onto my laptop make sure the photos were all clear and that they simple to see, the next step was to do a test contract set of photos I stuck these in my sketchbook too keep record of what photos I’ve done and circling which one I want to use for the collage background.
The illustrations that is getting used for the collage is a hand drawn cat using pens, me and Laura were going to create into a screen printing however the method we going to do we weren’t trained in and the cat was too complicated to cut around, as a pair we believed that the cat was good quality done by pens so I took the cat home to put card behind the paper and cut it around.
Time for printing out all the background photos in back and white on photo paper wasn’t hard as I’ve got my own printer at home once I printed all the photos out I started to put them on the black board trying to think of layout areas I should put each photo before cutting up.
One by one I went along to cut each photo up and trying to give them a destroyed look so it gave the idea of looking like rubbish even though the photo had a valuable item in the background think was to link to the oxymoron we picked, I only cut up one photo at a time so I didn’t get photos mixed up when placing on the board.
I used the illustrations of the cat a guide in the collage making due to him being the centre point I want to get the collage to sit nicely all around him so it give the feeling that he got power and the metaphor cat would sell the valuable stuff for money .
