PROTEST – making a Manifesto

manifesto

The first product that has been asked to be made by the university in my field group is a visual manifesto  on the protest that is chosen by the group ( due to two of the members in my group me and Laura picked our protest of being about how companies making items and making too much of a profit on them that’s needed )

The chosen name we want to call our campaign is profit over people

To start of making our protest me and Laura have come together on Thursday 17th to have a work day in the studio working together on our protest work as the other team members haven’t even contacted us.

A starting point to start developing our work was both of us went off to make our own mood boards to think about layout for manifest that could suit both graphic and illustrator area for our group.

below is my moodboard that I made

After I finished my mood board me and Laura both sat chatting about how our manifest could look like to help keep the idea of what we went on to make an idea generator on paper while Laura wrote down the ideas I will helping her with my views and looking into colours that could work well with manifesto poster.

While creating the idea brainstorm me and Laura thought it would be really good idea if we use our ideas to create some draft layouts on the same page of what we want on the poster we tried to keep in mind of what the illustrator could draw on our work so its fair on them.  However we had an email of one of them members let us down, as a pair we went to speak to our tutors about team problems as we don’t want to held back on our work, As our tutors could see that we were willing to carry on about we. Ready to design they said to carry on without the illustrator .

I went on to picking the fonts for our posters me and Laura both agree that we wanted a bold font face for our main heading and a handwritten typeface for a paragraphs that will be included on our work but not knowing which ones , as we were unsure I went on too adobe illustrator to make a collage of fonts to pick from

(the text thats in green is going to be our final text typefaces)

picking colours for the manifesto  poster me and Laura have picked to use the colours of;

  • white
  • green
  • black
  • maybe a grey

Everything will try to suit money colours as our theme.

The chosen target audience we believe that we should base our protest on is the consumers ( buyers of brands) from the ages of 14/15 (often start to understand money and getting their own money at this stage of life)  to adults as everyone in the world buys stuff  and giving them the information about brands ripping us off in the world and standing up to brands it will help people understand they are getting used as profit and nothing else.
