Today 27th of November 2018 is my second project of term one of year one in university hand in date.on the brief of movement. The project was the movement brief of creating a new idei sm word with a issues I believe in that I had to create a social martial for that had to include movement of some kind.
Here is my final outcome of the project, below I will be talking why I did certain things in the social marital advert and my experience with the project .
At the start of to the project I was super happy about being given a brief that was so open to creating my own idea. The stages of generating ideas and developing my top four ideas, I found so simple to do and I enjoy as I had a strength of knowing what I wanted to make to make and had an visual idea in my head already.
From the start of the Brief I knew that I wanted to do a text based video as I wanted to express a message through text coming the screen instead a typical product or drawing advert showing off a message, plus drawing instead my biggest strength so I wanted to try another graphic method as you can see from my outcome above.
From the start of the project I had so much belief in myself as I knew I could make the final outcome, and in my idea of the banning the usage of fireworks , I chosen a topic that I knew information on fit already and it was very interesting to show my idea to everyone else as I do believe that fireworks are bad for everyone and environment.
Even when the brief asks to make a social martial of choice that was humorous I wanted to but a twist on it I wanted to make a serious idea and for once as most of my education I have followed everything by the book and made funny, this time because the brief was so open I wanted to make a change and make my advert serious with a formal layout to get across a message.
I feel when speaking to peers and tutors they understood my idea very good but kept question why I wasn’t including funny scene once I told everyone why I was going it I feel that everyone had a better understand, I didn’t find it hard to explain to people why I was doing something by doing this a couple of times It made me put more belief in my idea as people would look at it later and see the effect of the out come .
The designing stage within this project was very long to process for me to do I got a bit annoyed in times with my idea of making a typography advert and everything coming in at the same time as not everything was going right but I did push myself not to give up on my idea in this project I just pushed myself to complete the outcome. I did struggle at times with the software as I didn’t know what certain things did or how to use them so I spent a lot of m designing time on youtube watching to help myself.
Once I finished my design outcome even though I’m not super happy with my outcome I’ve glad that I have completed it as also made something with learning a new software on top, I have uploaded my work onto the platform I wanted use of youtube where people can see it anytime.
the reason behind me picking youtube was because I felt it could be shared on to over apps such as facebook by people and will be seen and younger adverts always appear on most video theses day so it means it will be seen by people and I can track the views on the video.
Even thought my strengths of this project were at the start I did start creating a new strength of understand the after effect software after a while I even learnt how to push myself to finish stuff off to over come my weakness of giving up when I don’t understand things.
From doing this project I did have a lot of fun within making my own ideas and seeing around different way to make movement for social media materials and also I feel that this project was super helpful in my eyes as it gave me the skills of learning a popular software I will be using in my design life even though this project was bit stressful it has helped me improve as a student and design.
I’ve learnt things from software using, help in presentation, how to not give up on my idea if it’s not going amazing, and better ways to think about developing an idea in my sketch book I will be taking all this that I have learnt into all of my other projects and into my designing life.
If I had to redo this project I probably would push myself more and make try and make everything hand drawn and moves around the page but instead I do believe that my idea of using text to get a across a message is a good idea .
