letterpress-workshop

This afternoon was the letterpress workshop with Tom Martin, this was a couple of weeks delayed for issues but it was finally here for me today it was a time for to learn and explore letter-pressing.

In the two hour workshop Matt taught my small group of peers how to set up everything we need in letterpress such the constructing out  our frames with letters, set up on paints.

Before learning the basic of how to letterpress I got to see examples from new paper articles from the past that used letterpressing this was so interesting to look as you can see how much time and effort goes into the sleek looking articles, I really valued the work.

The workshop gave a lot of freedom to play with history methods of typography using my own words and picking the font I won’t , while in my time in the workshop I did come across a couple of small errors such as ink not showing on paper, back to front type faces all theses errors were small thing I over came it helped me learn the letterpress methods better

I found this workshop to be very fun and interesting to take part in, I loved the outcomes of my work as it gave it a unique look instead a digital look that’s everywhere theses days.

I believe that I will be definitely returning to this method of design within future projects when it suits the work most.

( below are outcomes on my work )
