screenprint – workshop

In the frist term of Art & design school in university the school gives us introduction workshops in design area’s that we will be using with the three years this workshop are helpful to known the rooms and experiment and how to use them.

Todays workshop was screenprintting this was a very playful workshop go take place in, the design I picked to make was the earth as I thought it would looks in different colours with the layers .

The process to make my screenprintting earth design the steps I did were;

1. draw each layer of the design out different layers and cut them out leaving the outline there so cut the inside of the circle out e.g  a circle for the global without the countries on layer paper 1  then layer two for the countries layers.
2. stick layer one paper on the screen board and flip it the paper is on the table board and lock the board onto the table so theres so movement for the board to come out, make sure the acidulate  plastic is on the under board so you can use it as draft layout later.
3. create the paint you want for your first layer and then put some on the screen board and pull it across the page with the folder looking tool put the tool on a 90 degree hold and push down when pulling across the board .
4. hold up the board and check where the design as gone on the acidulate plastic and if it looks good enough, if yes pull the plastic down under the table.
5. grab a card paper and put it under the screen board use the acidulate plastic to find out where the design will sit on the paper use this as a draft layout to help you if it looks good then remove the plastic and put the screen down and pull the paint through.
6. let the card paper dry with the design and go and clean then screen board off
7. dry the paper with your layer one designs on with a hairdryer and repeat the steps with the layer 2 on .

 

Final outcomes for screen-printting turned out good in mu eyes as I wanted it to be experimental with the colours and layer two layout on the design, I will definitely will be used screen-printing method in my work the next 3 years as it was much fun and an amazing outcome, theses are my outcomes from the workshop
