Constructivism movement was a movement in the design and area that was created in Russia in the time of 1915 but didn’t really take off till 1920 to the  Vladimir tatlin exhibit on his work of ” Monument of the Third International” where work from the constructivism movement was shown and seen by people. within in the time of constructivism movement there was a civil war going on between Russia and the red and white army this had a lot of impact on certain designs, the movement ran effective to 1940’s , however people in 2018 still use the design movement layouts and basic elements as inspiration then use it on their own work as a mix.

what is the constructivism movement ?

The constructivism movement was a huge move in the art and design area that forbidden the traditional idea of arts that designed for the middle class in the days before this movement started .This movement was to express artist freedom of breaking rules however it was also direct art towards the social issues and political messages that was taking place in this century for example the government were trying to help people to build a community up again and not go to and join the war and help the changes in the social world then it was used more further in the century by posters to do advertising events or products this movement even widen to making product covers such as book covers, logos

Constructivism movement had a couple of different movement work used into this movement  one that can be found cubism and futurism even realism  as theses movement took place beside this movement and they work into the this movement as inspiration and to show the movement more.

Typical conventions that are include in a lot the posters and design work in this movement include the same elements such as;

powerful images or a images – way to catcher someone else on poster was to include an image in most of the poster theres a image or an illustration include on the layout somewhere, a lot of the images have a happy lighter mood on the posters.

typography  – typography plays a big part of the constructivism movement, text is used to give information on the posters and work and due to the movement mostly about giving changes information to everyone text is used to give it across. Bold text is used as it easiest to see by everyone the typeface are a mixture of serif and san serif all text is blocky

Russian words– Most of the posters and work that made within the time of the movement all include the Russian language meaning the Russian alphabet was used to some people that don’t known Russian can say it looks like shapes or letters back to front.

angled items – everything on the page  is on an angle, this could be for any reason such as showing the movement or making it a bit more creative.

strong geometric’s – the Russian ideas were a lot of laying shapes and make the designs as creative as they wanted this was a way to should futurism in their designs.

simple colour theme – primary colours are only found on the posters theses were red,white, black ,yellow and somethings blue and the basic colours of white and black are seen in very design that was made in this century as they were easy to be seen on the layout page people also say that the red and black were representing the deaths with in the wars it can also been see as the different army’s  that were included in the cvill war.
